Customer Reviews
Easy car rental
Rented a 'camioneta suv' for a week. Pickup was quick. Car was as expected. Returned it with no problems. Good service.
Detailed review of my rental
I booked an 'auto económico' for a 10-day business trip in Monterrey. The reservation was made online, and I opted for the 'descuento por pago anticipado' which saved me a bit. I also added 'asistencia en el camino' and 'seguro de responsabilidad civil' for peace of mind. Upon arrival at the airport location, the check-in process took about 20 minutes, including reviewing the contract and going over the vehicle's condition. The car itself was a basic model, clean, and mechanically sound, which is what I expected for an 'económico'. Fuel efficiency was good. The return process was quick and hassle-free, with the attendant checking the car for any new damage and confirming the fuel level. My only minor suggestion would be for a slightly faster counter experience, but everything else was as advertised.
Worked out pretty well
Needed a car for my vacation in Cancun, so I got an 'auto mediano' from Thrifty. The whole thing was pretty chill. Booking online was easy enough, and getting the car at the airport wasn't a hassle. I added 'protección de daños por colisión' just to be safe, and it made me feel better driving around. The car was fine, nothing fancy, but it got us everywhere we needed to go. Would use them again if I'm back in Mexico.
Fantastic experience with Thrifty!
I absolutely loved my rental from Thrifty! I got an 'auto automático' for my trip to Guadalajara and it was perfect. The booking was super easy, and the car was ready for me right when I got there. The staff was friendly and efficient, making the whole process smooth. It was a great car for exploring the city and beyond. I'll definitely be renting from them again on my next visit!
Easy family trip
We needed a bigger car for our family vacation to Puerto Vallarta, so I booked a "renta de camionetas suv" with Thrifty MX. The whole process was pretty chill, actually. I was a bit worried about getting everything sorted at the airport with the kids, but it went way faster than I thought it would. The SUV was super clean and had plenty of space for all our luggage. We also added a "renta de sillas para bebé" which was already installed and ready to go. The drive to our hotel felt really comfortable. It was a good experience, made our trip way less stressful.
Good compact car
Rented a "renta de autos compactos" for a short business trip. Car was ready. Drop-off was easy. No issues with the service or vehicle. Got the job done.
Good value, minor pickup delay
I rented an 'auto compacto' for a trip to Mexico City. The online booking process was straightforward, and the price for the week was quite competitive compared to other companies. When I arrived at the airport, there was a bit of a wait at the counter, maybe 15 minutes, which wasn't ideal after a long flight. The car itself was clean and drove well, no issues there. The 'kilometraje ilimitado' was a big plus for exploring outside the city. Overall, a solid choice for budget-friendly car rental, just be prepared for a potential small delay at pickup during busy times.
Always a smooth rental
I've used Thrifty MX for several trips now, and they're consistently reliable. This last time, I rented a "renta de autos económicos" in Cancun for a week, and it was exactly what I expected. Pick-up at the airport was quick, just like my previous rentals in Mexico City and Guadalajara. The car was clean and ran well, no surprises. I appreciate that they always have a good selection and the process is straightforward every time. It's why I keep coming back.
